Chioula Refuge in Ignaux

  • This refuge in the heart of Chioula the Nordic area on the route of Montsegur Cathars fled to Spain is at an altitude of 1600m on the chain of Ariege Pyrenees. Initially neck Chioula (10 kms Ax-les-Thermes) is the meeting place for cross country skiers, snowshoers of, hikers (GR 107 routes from one village to another) of vetéttistes. You will relax alone, in couples, families or groups.

    Home: 29 people, rooms with 2 to 6 people, blankets, duvet advised summer and winter.

    Facilities: common room, stove, toilet, showers.

    Services: catering, drinks, crepes, packed lunch.

    Access: from the parking Chioula neck 45 mins walk. Tourist tax payable locally.

    This hut is open all year:
    - Winter: during the opening period of the Nordic area Chioula, lodging reservation.
    - Summer: 15th June to 30th September and by reservation for other periods.
