The Tower of Montorgueil

  • This castle of the Counts of Foix was probably built in the late 12th century or early 13th century when the counts took back the authority on the valley of Saurat. We do not know when the site was abandoned but still the ruins of the first floor of a beautiful rustic dungeon whose characteristic is to be a tower spur rare form in the area. The wall surrounding the fortress is against almost visible, as well as buildings that were built into it. The view of the valley and the castle ruins...

The wall surrounding the fortress is against almost visible, as well as buildings that were built into it. The view of the valley and the castle ruins Calamès (XIII-XV century) is particularly impressive and worth the trip.
    At the foot of the Tower, consolidated by volunteers from the village in July 2009, a panoramic viewpoint and explanatory panel make you more enjoyable visit to this site.
