  • Challenge yourself to climb the Beille plateau! From Ax les Thermes you leave the valley for the Corniches road which takes you through atypical villages with a magnificent view of the Pyrenees. In Lordat, you will see the buckets of talc passing between the quarry above the village and the Luzenac factory. For today's objective, you are tackling a classic of the Tour stage in Ariège: the famous Beille plateau. From Les Cabannes it's a 16km climb at an average of 8% before the reward on arrival with a splendid 180° view.

    Departing from Ax-les-Thermes station, take the D44 towards Ignaux, one of the first villages on the corniche road. You will branch off onto the D20 before descending onto the D120 to reach Verdun and Les Cabannes. Warning: dangerous descent to the village of Verdun, be careful in the hairpin bends.
