The house of wolves

Welcomed at the Maison des Loups in the ticket office building, you will have independent access to the Animal Park located in the forest... Duration of the visit approx. 2 hours a day.

More than 4 hectares in the forest within the National Reserve to get to know the different packs of the Park with twenty five Wolves . To get to know them better, we advise you to listen to the feeding comments made by the keepers. (about 2 or 3 feedings per day / see schedules below). You will meet the new family of Mackenzie type Canadian wolves during feeding or viewing tunnel.

The visit continues with the Mini-Farm near the trout pond... Children and adults will be delighted to see the 3 little pigs, sit on the tractor, pet Mr. Seguin's goat, meet the rabbits including the Flanders Giant (largest rabbit), observe the hens, roosters, guinea pigs and small chicks... A timed track lets you know if you run faster than the wolf!

La Maison des Loups is also entertainment in the Park :
- an auditorium,
- a storytelling square,
- an archaeological workshop,
- an Orpailleur "gold digger" experience,
- trails: Botany to discover Pyrenean species, Discovery of animal tracks from our mountains, Ornithology to discover local birds and "Barefoot" discovery to activate our senses.
- a vision tunnel (squatting behind glass, you can observe the wolves and their cubs very closely, please note this service is limited in number of places, subject to time slots and with a supplement of 4€/pers),
- a Molding of footprints workshop is offered with clay, an activity reserved only for school groups
- a playground and picnic areas inside the Park.

The Maison des loups also offers services :
- A shop with many souvenirs, books, stuffed animals, accessories, goodies, postcards...
- A restaurant (gourmet plates, Caesar salad, burgers, rib steak, sausage/fries, desserts, etc.) with a covered terrace facing the waterfall and the forest.
- A bar / Snacking outside restaurant opening / Ice cream. (The water is not drinkable within the Park - possibility of Bar and WC in the reception building.)

OPENING PERIODS 2023, from Saturday April 22, 2023:

Spring holidays: from April 22, 2023 until May 8: Every day from 10:15 a.m. to 5 p.m. - Pack feeding at 12 p.m. and 3:30 p.m.
May: From May 9 Every day except Monday, Wednesday, Friday from 10:15 a.m. to 5 p.m. (open all weekend of the ascent from Thursday May 18 to Sunday May 21) - Feeding of the packs at 12 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. Also open on May 29 (Pentecost Monday)
June :Open every day except Monday and Wednesday from 10:15 a.m. to 5 p.m. - Pack feeding at 12 p.m. and 3:30 p.m.

July/August: Open every day from 10.15 a.m. to 7 p.m. from July 3 - Feeding at 12 p.m./3 p.m./5.30 p.m.
September / October: open from 10:15 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays - Feeding at 12 p.m. and 3:30 p.m.

All Saints holidays: Open every day from October 21 to November 5 inclusive. Feeding of the packs at 12 p.m. and 3:30 p.m.

Winter closure from November 6, 2023.

A small part of the park is accessible to people with reduced mobility. Special services for schoolchildren, contact La Maison des Loups.

Since April 2022, work has been underway at the Forges d'Orlu on the spaces of the Vallées Ingénieuses project (formerly mountain observatory) and the car park.
